Jane joined the practice on 9th April 2018.
Jane brings 30 years of Primary Care experience and has been the Practice Manager for 2 local surgeries in the past. Jane manages all things to do with the general day to day running of the surgery. She is responsible for non-clinical management of the practice, involving managing the surgery contracts with other healthcare providers.
The Administration Team work closely with the Clinical team to process all things patient records, referrals, auditing and GDPR. The admin team are available between 10am-2pm Monday-Friday when selecting the admin option when dialling into the surgery.
Joining the practice in January 2003 as an Administrative Assistant. Her job role has changed to Practice Secretary which now includes the typing and organising of patient referrals. Sheila is a very experience secretary and is a very valued member of the administration team.
Janet officially joined the surgery in 2018 after working here part time as an audio typist. Janet also organises Dr Qurbans Headache Clinic which is run for not only our patients but also patients registered at other GP surgeries throughout Tendring and Colchester.
Val working a Ranworth in June 2014 as a Prescription Clerk. She was previously a Registered Pharmacy Technician working in a local Pharmacy. Val works closely with the Clinical Pharmacist and the GP’s, along with the local pharmacies and regularly has contact with the CCG over medication issues.
Luke joined us in 2015 after many years working in retail management. After starting out in Reception Luke has worked his way up to being a valued member of the Admin team dealing with all incoming and outgoing post, assisting the practice secretaries with patient referrals. Luke is the administrator for the 24hr/7Day ECG monitoring service that we offer at the surgery. Dealing with patient referrals, typing clinic letters, processing patient appointments and liaising with the cardiology team at the hospital. Luke also manages the website for the surgery.
Louise started with the surgery on 27th June 2018. Louise brings with her 9 years experience woking in the Doctor Surgery environment, previously working at Caradoc Surgery from 2009. Louise started as a receptionist but then moved into the Audit Clerk role in 2015. The Audit Clerk is responsible for ensuring patients with Chronic Illness’s are seen within the surgery on a regular basis, this involves inviting patients in to the surgery via letter or text message when the patient review is due. An Audit Clerk will also summarise new patients notes and deal with any administrative duties as required.
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
